|1,500 € for participating teams. Possibility for a partnership with Airbus.|
Airbus is looking for the best and most talented teams to improve the mission-critical communications of police officers, firefighters, caretakers, doctors and other life-saving and society-building professionals. What kinds of useful, secure and engaging applications and functionalities could you develop for the new Airbus Tactilon Dabat device – an Android smartphone with PMR/TETRA radio? How could you help them save time, money and lives?
Professional Mobile Radio (PMR) devices are carried in the pocket of hundreds of thousands of professionals all over the world. However, they are used mainly for routine work, while the personal smartphone in the professional’s other pocket has a lot of additional useful, entertaining and informative content. Airbus sees huge potential in combining these two devices, and is launching a totally new hybrid product, Tactilon Dabat. It’s a sleek Android smartphone using the regular LTE network, but which also has a built-in mission-critical TETRA capability. To boost the creation of hybrid applications, Airbus has established the SmarTWISP programme. Through this programme, Airbus certifies the best applications to ensure that they are secure and functional for the professionals. The programme’s benefits are two-fold: Thanks to the Airbus quality check, application users will know that all the functions on their devices are of high quality and secure. The developers themselves profit from special trainings, tools as well as rewards schemes based on application sales. Through this innovation challenge Airbus wants to find creative partners to develop new applications for the Tactilon Dabat. Can you create hybrid applications that utilize the critical communications functionalities in a new way, and makes the use of the device more engaging, helping professionals save time, money and lives?
Each participating team will be paid 1500 eur after having presented their demo and given feedback. The best teams have a chance to become an Elite partner in Airbus SmarTWISP programme, and thus enter a co-marketing and revenue sharing collaboration with Airbus.
